I also got experience with the following (5 = a lot, 1 = a little) :
#machinelearning #ml (3) (I have implemented some ML models myself in the past, for learning purposes.)
#guix (3) (Using it for reproducible setups of projects.)
#functionalprogramming #fp (5) (Doing it in my own projects.)
#objectorientedprogramming #oop (4) (last job and past xp in my own projects.)
#CI / #CD (3) (Last job)
#make (4) (using it for my own project setups and convenience)
#testing (4) (last job, own projects)
#Nix and #Guix differences and similarities?
« The similarities end here, however: Guix is not "just" Nix with Scheme — it's a complete alternative ecosystem built in parallel on top of the same foundational infrastructure. A mental model of "Nix with Lisp syntax" will not work in practice when approaching Guix. »

Insightful post with a good understanding of the differences between #Nix and #Guix.

Yesterday, after a intense afternoon and a nice dinner speaking about build systems, today Academic track at #DebConf25!
This afternoon, I’ll speak a bit about #Guix and #SoftwareHeritage.
@marcus While I'm a massive fan of both #guix and #nix, and have long regarded them as the direction of the future though not there yet, truth is they are both gigantic messes at the moment and I'm not the slightest bit surprised that this guy couldn't get his strange laptop working like he wanted.
We all need to push towards making them conceptually and usably simpler.
Interesting post from tazjin, an experienced #nixos contributor, about trying #guix https://tazj.in/blog/trying-guix#fnref1 it didn’t particularly make me want to try guix, but it was an informative and fun read.
@ekaitz_zarraga Would be nice to meet in person in sunny Valencia to discover your work around #riscv bootstraping and #guix.
Just saying 😉.
Just submitted a patch to #Guix adding Sourcetrail[1]! (PR #1129 [2]) It's a cool little tool and it was fun packaging it. Walking around a C/C++ project with a graphical tool is a great way to try and get a handle on what the big important functions and data structures are.

Picked up a #Thinkpad P1 Gen2 Xeon laptop the other day, with 64GB of RAM and 500G drive, 4K touchscreen. Less than 300 bucks.
Did I need it? Ummm, well, not really. But, come on! It's in spectacular shape, works well, will make a great device to build some vms with. Eventually I want to get a #guix home setup with it, but for now it's running #EndeavorOS.
I think it's my favorite machine right now. Kind of the big brother to my kids' T480's
