Today people around the world are saying NO to business as usual with a global strike for Palestine! We'll be making space at Firestorm for folks to gather throughout the day with free coffee and tea plus solidarity activities. Join friends and neighbors from 4pm to 6pm for ceasefire postcard and letter writing. Then at 6pm, we'll be screening "Gaza Fights for Freedom," a 2019 documentary filmed during the height of the Great March Of Return, which tells the story of Gaza past and present with rare archival footage.

Our movements are better with food! A Firestorm friend has generously offered to bring free vegan/gluten-free pumpkin soup for folks to enjoy before the film screening, so plan to come early. Graphic is a remake of a Chilean dove lanografia (art made with yarn) which was used in Chile during the dictatorship, not only to communicate with the political prisoners, but also to sell and that way earn some money to support the family.

The dove has fat black outlines, the head is red, the belly is green, the body is white and the wing is black — representing the colours of the flag of Palestine. The eye of the dove is an eight-pointed star, representing Chile, but using the Mapuche star instead of the regular five-pointed star.

Above the graphic is the text in black:

Its truely horrendous how the #Palestinians are being #gunnedDown with hellatious illegal #weapons for #camping, basic #protests and occasional #rockThrowing.

We recently heard #ChrisHedge's interview with #AbbyMartin on her #documentary film on #vimeo titled, #GazaFightsForFreedom.

The #propaganda arm of #Israel even cut footage to make Palestinians appear worse.

Calls to #BoycottIsrael are warranted. Its time they stopped stealing land - its time for #peace.
