Es gibt Filme, die kaum ein Mensch noch kennt, obwohl alles an ihnen „Klassiker“ ruft: Die Hauptdarsteller:innen, Superstars und das absolute Traumpaar der Nouvelle Vague, die Handlung, ein Roadmovie über Ländergrenzen hinweg, das Set ein einziger Reiseprospekt. Und dennoch – vergessen. „Échappement libre“, lief 1964 in den französischen Kinos, war ein Hit – und fiel dann durch alle Raster der Erinnerung. Vielleicht, weil ihm das eine fehlte: ein Rückgrat.
