Torque hacks – But how can I trust my physics calculations?
Goal: Tighten 10Nm #Golf2 valve cover bolts
Problem: Torque wrench 42–210Nm
Solution: Use 9.26kg water container to pull a string attached to a wrench r=0.11m.
Calculation
Mass = 10Nm / (9.81911 m/s^2 * 0.11m)
Rewrite: Newton = ( kg*m ) / s²
Mass = 10 (kg*m²)/s² / (9.81911 m/s² * 0.11m)
Mass = 9.26kg
of witch water container is 0.907g and the cord 52g, leaving 8.3l for the water.
But OMG, the 9.3kg FEELS SO HEAVY that it is hard to believe the M6 bolts won't tear the aluminium motor block :O
