Joined in ‘08, mostly ignored since ‘15, and now gone for good in ‘24. I got hired into tech through the platform, attended and hosted #tweetups and #twitterprom, tried the #favstar thing for a while, and met some really great people online and #irl. It was the place to see the world happen in real-time at a time when that was a new idea. #goodbyetwitter and good riddance.

I always had this hope in my mind that someday Twitter would go back to the way it was before. So, even though I have been using #Mastodon for a long time now, I never took that final step of deleting my account.
But...sometimes when things have changed so much, there is no way for recovery.
There is no going back. Only forward.
Enough is enough!
I've now deleted all my dormant accounts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
They'll keep the old data and train their climate destroying AI models on it, but they're not getting more of my time.
