This is so wasteful!!

Each of those turbines has a huge tower, a generator at the top and three gigantic blades. All to get around 50% capacity factor for maybe 20 years.

Compare that to one AP300™ small modular reactor, that replaces around 20 of these turbines and easily exceeds 80% capacity factor with much less space used.

To clean up electricity generation, we already know which technologies work the best.

Hint: It's not solar panels or wind turbines!

Moving from burning wood in homes and coal / oil at industrial sites to electricity is an admirable goal. However, we don't gain enough carbon reduction until we shift electricity to cleaner constant generation.

Moving water is one and nuclear is the other.
