An archaeological open-air museum was built near the village of Groß Raden, which belongs to Sternberg/ Mecklenburg (northeastern Germany, on the site of the (allegedly) most important excavation site in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, an old Slavic settlement and temple site.
The Slavic tribe of the Warsower (Obotrites) is said to have lived here on an island in the lake in the 9th and 10th centuries.
