A must visit in 2025 https://www.spacejam.com/1996/jam.htm
All that you'd expect from a genuine 1996 website: frames, source maps for images, and more. Delicious.
Not everyone is on board with Web3, but browsing the average ham radio website, it seems like they haven’t even heard of Web 2.0.
EDIT: This isn’t to say those websites are bad. Sure, they may be hard to read on mobile or a 4K screen, but content is king!

I started thinking about the vintage web and web rings while looking through some old apps and then trying to get a browser to run under Mac OS 7.5.5 in Basilisk II just to verify that my old website works with older browsers.
(Spoiler Alert!) It’s kinda broken. I switched from inline attributes for styling to using inline CSS, so some pages had backgrounds and no gaudy blue outlines, and some didn’t. Then I got sucked into installing a period appropriate QuickTime. Pro started in 3.0 and the key I purchased apparently doesn’t work on it. 🙃 Had to try a couple of keys listed elsewhere, but it’s nice being able to watch the videos I have on my website again.
Well, here I am adding bgcolor and border attributes to HTML tags like a My First Webpage coder. 🥰

I'd love it to look like the old site too, just not.... the terrifyingly awful PHP coding I did ( I used a lot of text files to manage all the content). I really should put it up on github and let people laugh at it... #php #html4 #nestedtables

Quand j’ouvre l’inspecteur et que je tombe sur ce genre de code, j’ai toujours un peu l’impression d’être une sorte d’archéologue qui découvre des vestiges d’une ancienne civilisation :
« Oh regardez, d’authentiques balises <font> parfaitement conservées ! Fascinant… » 🧐
i hope our @twovoyagers won't mind my sharing this lovely piece of theirs, a light concise and fun delightfully dry-cynical #history of #HTML from its early-mid #1990s specification and onward thru to #HTML4 of year #1998
Been a while since I've last seen an online #HTML4 website with legacy and deprecated `<frameset>` in source code. I wonder when it will be finally unsupported in browsers.
