The newest one I have is the last of @cstross ' novels, The Regicide Report.
I don't know if you are ready up in that series, I think this is good so far but probably not an ideal entry point.

is slightly but amusing.

's series has another one out, a reasonable continuation. The first one was another good effort at a response to the book not film, and to 's

Osią fabuły jest, ma się rozumieć, wojna. Taka, w której ludzkość staje naprzeciwko innej inteligentnej rasy – Taurańczyków. (...) Kłopot z ową wojną polega na tym, że siedziby obu biorących w niej udział gatunków znajdują się w ogromnych odległościach od siebie. I am not normally a fan of #1970s #scifi but #TheForeverWar by #Haldeman is exceptional. Tis like a scifi equivalent to The Red Badge of Courage. Ok, granted, some bits haven't aged well but it's still an insightful piece of work. (I'd say more but avoiding spoilers.)

(Edit- there's a reference to a stargate on page 106 of my copy of The Crow Road by Iain Banks. I am guessing that this book is the influence.)
