Rocky seaside. A detail of grey rocks, dark grey where they are wet, with some green and orange moss. The water is blue and swirly with some white foamy heads (what is it called in English?). A lot of structure through the photo. The rocks are former lava flows.

For #TravelThursday part of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland near the village of Hellnar taken during a visit to this gorgeous part of the country in July 2022.

A sunny day with the edge of a chilly wind to it and we're standing on a grassy cliff top looking over the edge to a small cove with more cliffs jutting out around its far edge, a calm sea, and, on the horizon, hilly and mountainous landscape faded with distance. The cove has a shallow beach of black sand and a long stone jetty that sticks out for a hundred metres or so then turns sharply ten degrees towards us and sticks out a little further still. The cliffs of the far side of the cove are sheer and dark, suggesting this is an area formed from volcanic activity in the past, and the upper surface is covered in short, bright grass which tells us this is spring or early summer. A few thin patches of cloud are in the otherwise bright blue sky.

Lunchtime 😃 so time to post a photo of last week. 🇮🇸

The fun thing during capturing the northern lights was the hissing and shouting of the photographers when someone walked in their picture or used their (head) lights.

Until they found that some extra light could also be interesting. 😉

Wave splashing against rocks. Some blueish colours in the water, beautiful against the dark greyis rocks, with some orange reflections,

Brownish yellow grassland, with several ponds dropped in them. They reflect the blue sky. And 4 ducks, 2 male, 2 female.

Based on more messages on social media, people were just as overwhelmed as I was… Those colours are absolutely amazing😍

The white lights on the right of the church are a group photographers in the wild. 😃 I found out that you can approach them and they are really friendly.
