Тут наверное вопрос даже не в конкретной реализации для конкретного датчика, а есть ли API в #мештастик #meshtastic для этого?
Датчики могут быть разные, лазерный дальномер, датчик силы тока и напряжения, разные. SPI и I2C в основном.

That plus powersaving changes in v1.13 and now v1.14 will make these devices viable solar powered repeaters 😍

Idea: Something like the #HeltecV4, but in m.2 form. it would expose a serial interface with which the host OS can communicate. Bonus points for separate rx and tx antennas.

This would enable us to deliver the whole solution in a single enclosure (a #Protectli appliance).

Quite confused as to how I'm supposed to get the #HeltecV4 EEPROM back in a good state after using rnodeconf --eeprom-wipe.

I'm getting this kind of error when trying to use rnodeconf on the device post-flash:

[19:13:23] Reading EEPROM...
[19:13:24] This device contains a valid firmware, but EEPROM is invalid.
[19:13:24] Probably the device has not been initialised, or the EEPROM has been erased.
[19:13:24] Please correctly initialise the device and try again!

I ordered 2x #HeltecV4 devices a few days ago. They're supposed to arrive today, but it hasn't even left the origination facility.

Either way, I'm excited to toy around with #Reticulum and #MeshCore with them.

I also bought two outdoor solar kits, so I'm hoping these will be permanent fixtures. I also need to figure out what can survive a harsh Colorado hail storm.

If this next test goes well, I'll acquire a #LoRaWAN device and start experimenting with that.

I'm inching closer towards an initial proof-of-concept set of hardware gear for use in the #HardenedBSD censorship- and surveillance-resistant low-cost (or free in certain cases) mesh network.

The 18650 batteries of my solar node were heating up to 60°C (140 °F), and they were being charged a bit too fast for my taste (perks of living in the tropics). So I attached a mini fan directly to the solar cells to cool down the batteries and decrease the available current for the node. Both problems solved 😎

(I just hope this trick won't make the #heltecv4's built-in MPPT angry...)

I may have found a workaround. Looks like setting the ADC multiplier to 4.6 makes 3.3V look like 0% battery (a bit above the point which causes the #heltec V4 browning out on TX), making it enter into deep sleep within 200 seconds (or 10 voltage reads). Then, I set the deep sleep duration to 3 hours, which should be enough for the batteries to recharge to safer levels.

After playing with this for a few days, I'm running into a weird usability issue, that's actually very much a "nice problem to have".

My radio can only store 350 contacts (other nodes on the network). Once that's full, new nodes are no longer shown.

That means I can't add them as favorites, or even message them.

The upside of course is that I can reach over 350 nodes, covering half the country.

Aha, ik was me al aan het afvragen of ik iets verkeerd heb gedaan bij het flashen van mijn #HeltecV4 in #MeshCore.

Maar opeens stroomt de lijst dan toch gestaag vol met repeaters. Zo ook (tot nu toe) twee in #Nijmegen.

Hebben (behalve de plaatsing) ook de weersomstandigheden invloed op bereik?

After some tinkering I made my Heltec Wifi LoRa 32 V4 work, even without an extra/better antenna. Somehow it doesn't want to connect to the webclient with Bluetooth but the Android app works fine. It is also nice that this kit has a small screen of it's own.
Amazingly busy here around Bergschenhoek, Netherlands.

Nu is er weer een deelnemer (beroep: IT'er) die een excelbestand met ál zijn wachtwoorden doodleuk op zijn slecht beveiligde cloud heeft staan...hoe dan?

Ik vroeg me daarnaast ook af of er geen off grid directe communicatiesystemen bestaan. Enfin; als geïnteresseerde technoob heb ik na wat research een Heltec V4 besteld. =)

How did I miss the existence of MeshCore for so long? 😇

Looking forward to playing with this. Heltec v3 looks like an easy starter for it. The v4 may have excess power limit issues, but looks good for a go-bag. (If things have got bad enough that this is your main comms, who cares about power issues?)

Planning two devices. First as a BT5 connect to get it running with a phone. Second as a repeater to extend the coverage.
