Enhance Your Hero Realms Experience with Character Packs

I was sent the five Hero Realms character packs to review for my blog. While I am very grateful for the opportunity, I won’t let it sway my opinions. This will be my honest review.

What are the Character Packs?

The character packs introduce the class system to the fantasy-themed deck-building game. The playable characters I received were cleric, fighter, ranger, wizard, and thief. Each pack comes with two special ability cards unique to the corresponding class, and a few uniquely themed resource and attack cards. These packs will act as a player’s starting deck. The packs also have a unique character card and authority tracker for flavor.

You will need the base game if you want to play with these cards. Make sure you check out my review of Hero Realms if you don’t know what I am talking about.

Review

If you haven’t played hero realms yet, it is worth checking out. The game is easy to learn and teach, and has some terrific flavor. The cards are high quality, and the texture is wonderful. Make sure you check out my full review!

While the character packs aren’t a necessity, they do not disappoint. The packs are all printed with the high quality and care that I have come to know from Wise Wizard Games. The flavor of each pack is fantastic in both mechanics and art. This game has some fantastic art, and if you like fantasy, you’ll love these character cards.

Power level-wise, the classes feel pretty even. Most games were decided based on RNG, and none of the classes seemed unfair. I preferred using the cleric because I am always the group’s cleric. You can get away with only buying one character pack. I played a few games against a character without one and while the abilities do offer a slight advantage, it was manageable. That said, I would have preferred to play with a class because the class abilities add a fun dynamic to the game.

If you don’t sleeve your cards, you can pack the character packs snugly with the base game, but the box will only fit one character and the base game. You’re going to have to get creative with storage if you are like me and sleeve everything. This isn’t a criticism of the game, but rather something to think about if you’re getting ready to purchase.

I love Hero Realms because of the flavor and gameplay, and I recommend you at least start with that. If you want a way to spice up your Hero Realms game night, you’re going to want to check out the character packs. They aren’t necessary, but they are worth the money.

O.O Ich habe jede einzelne #StarRealms Kampagne auf hart und mit 3/3 Sternen geschafft.
Hat ewig gedauert und schien bisweilen unmöglich but it's done!!

Nur: Jetzt habe ich keine Offline-Herausforderungen mehr. Ob ich mir #HeroRealms runter laden muss?
Finde das Spiel ja weniger gelungen als SR, aber mag die Erweiterungen, wo man auch einzeln gegen Bosse kämpfen kann (The Ruin of Thandar und dessen Erweiterungen) sehr, wünschte das gäbe es für HR.

Btw was mich bei #HeroRealms am Meisten stört (respektive #StarRealms besser macht):

1. Dass man nicht auf den 1. Blick zwischen Aktionen (sind nach der Runde im Ablagestapel) und Champions/Guards (analog zu Basen/Outputs in SR), die im Spiel bleiben bis sie zerstört werden, unterscheiden kann.
Bei HR sind auf beiden halt irgendwelche Charaktere abgebildet.
Bei SR sind es eindeutig Schiffe für Aktionen und Raumstationen für die anderen. Plus bei SR sind die einen Karten hochkant, die anderen quer! Layout als Verständnishilfe ftw!

2. HR hat oft irgendwelche Designs für die Charaktere der einzelnen "Farben", bei SR erkennt man auf den ersten Blick, zu welcher Fraktion ein Schiff/Station gehört, durch sehr unterschiedliches Design.

J'aime jouer au format "Speed Duel", je joue également sur #DuelLinks. Mais MiniGeek préfère jouer au format "originel" (5 cartes) d'où l'achat de cartes d'occasion.

Il préfère quand même jouer à #Pokemon et #HeroRealms.

HERO REALMS

Parece increíble lo que se puede llegar a conseguir con 144 cartas. Hoy vengo a enseñaros este Hero Realms, un juego de confrontación mediante construcción de mazo de cartas. El objetivo del juego será derrotar al resto de jugadores hasta que solo quede uno, el cual será declarado el ganador.

Cada jugador tendrá 50 puntos de vida.
Al inicio de la partida los jugadores tendremos un mazo de 10 que serán para todos iguales (7 de una moneda, 1 de dos monedas, 1 de un punto de ataque y 1 de dos de ataque) Las barajaremos y robaremos nuestra mano de cartas que será de 5 de ellas. Cada turno robaremos 5 y las tendremos que jugar todas.

Por otro lado, mezclaremos todas las cartas avanzadas y formaremos el mercado central poniendo 5 cartas que podremos comprar, si compramos alguna de ellas irá a nuestro descarte (esto es muy importante, nunca irán a nuestra mano) y automáticamente sacaremos otra para que siempre haya 5 cartas en el mercado. Además, añadiremos una pequeña reserva con cartas por valor de dos monedas que también podremos comprar.

Todas las cartas de este juego suelen tener alguno de estos dos iconos: monedas para comprar cartas o espadas para atacar a nuestros rivales. Con esto iremos jugando comprando cartas y atacando al resto de jugadores. Cuando se nos acaben las cartas de nuestro mazo barajaremos todos nuestros descartes, consiguiendo así llevar a nuestra mano cartas que compramos en rondas anteriores.

Una de las peculiaridades del juego es que las cartas avanzadas son de 4 colores distintos y se volverán muy poderosas si en una misma mano tenemos dos cartas o más del mismo color. Esto dará lugar a que intentemos comprarlas siempre del mismo color, pero eso no será siempre posible.

Además podremos tener campeones y guardianes que al jugar en nuestro turno podremos dejarlos sobre nuestra zona de juego, teniendo así ya uno de los colores disponibles para combar en todo momento.

Resumiendo, un juego muy rápido con partidas de 15 a 30 minutos aproximadamente. Es de 2 a 4 jugadores, muy sencillo de jugar, barato y muy divertido.

Hehehe, es freut mich immer sehr, wenn Menschen 1x #HeroRealms oder vor allem #StarRealms (gleiches Spiel, aber Raumschiffe) spielen und schon so überzeugt sind, dass sie es weiterempfehlen. :blobcheer:

#Spiel22 #EssenLoot von #WiseWizardGames (#WWG, ehemals #WhiteWizardGames). Es gibt mehrere Promos, aber eine bekommt man nur wenn man #HeroRealms installiert hat, und ein paar weitere nur wenn man was kauft. Finde ich etwas doof, denn ich habe sowohl von Hero Realms als auch von #StarRealms quasi alles, und die anderen Produkte (#Sorcerer und #KAPOW) interessieren mich nicht.

Eine Promo gibt's aber so.

Danach haben wir noch zwei Runden #HeroRealms gespielt. Modus Hunter - First Blood mit den Charakteren.

Ich hab beide Runden gewonnen, Sacrifice ftw.

Hatte am Ende nur 5 resp. 4 gekaufte Karten im Deck, aber jeweils ca. 5 Karten entfernt - das hat das Deck genug beschleunigt.

We're finally getting around to playing the Lost Village portion of the #herorealms campaign now that the sleeves finally came in last week.

We finished the first encounter and lost the second one once due to unlucky market deck. Lots of fun.
