A #tawny #owl lives "next door", he's #hooting every night starting around 23:00 and some times about an hour before sunrise.
I've seen him only once when walking deep into the future garden currently consisting of chestnut, beech and oak forest understory and two (at least, as far as I discovered) old apple trees almost choked by vines, and once I heard a whoosh of wings over my head: he might be watching, curious. Photo is impossible, but here's the sound 🎤 🦉

OWL NOISES! (Video is just blackness)
There was (first time ever, lived here 6 years) an #owl in my back yard last night. Super loud, pretty sure it was in a tree about 30 feet away. Cats were very confused.
Too dark for my phone to pick up anything, and after staring at the tree for a few minutes I didn't spot the owl in person, either. Still awesome.
Interesting. I'm in Canada. Maybe this is just one (more) of those things that the UK and/or Europe do correctly and North America are just a bunch of primitives #hooting around a black #monolith in #ignorance .
