Does anyone want to do a hop-bine height off? This is mine, today, 14 May 2025, Sheffield, UK. Climbing clockwise. #hops #humulus

A green hop bine climbing up a metal support and bamboo pole. The hop has three lobed leaves, five are clearly visible. The growing tip has just reached higher than the top of the metal bit and is now starting to climb the bamboo pole. In the background is black landscape fabric, mounted vertically rather than on the ground as is conventional.

It's that time of year when I wear my hand knitted jumpers.

I don't have loads to choose between because I don't have enough patience for many, but this is probably my fave (and it was my first) the #humulus sweater by Isabell Kraemer.
