What a busy day! Started early delivering groceries for the food bank on my bike. Then we made apple cider using apples from our apple tree. Finally I rode around the neighborhood searching for hop plants growing in people's yards and asking if I could take some for my community beer. More on that tomorrow.

On Monday, we stopped in at B2 Taphouse on the way through Salem and I enjoyed my second #FreshHop #beer of the season, Killer Red from #DoubleMountainBrewery. This India Red Ale is infused with fresh Centennial #hops fresh off the bine and it's lush with pine and orange notes. Cheers! 🍻

Hops climbing a volunteer maple.
Those maples pop up everywhere along our fences. Most are made into plant support sticks, a few get to stay, very few get replanted because growing through the fence they're often inextricable or malformed.
They're nice trees and have good wood later, so will definitely look to (re)plant a few more since they thrive so well here.
This one gets to stay, because we want to keep the hops alive. But it'll get trimmed a bit, nobody can even reach up there.
