A blackbird dreaming in spring. I’ve had a rather fraught relationship with some blackbirds this spring. The black birds, I have been contending with are red wing blackbirds, starlings, and the common grackle. I love birds, but these birds eat up all the birdseed and scare away the other smaller birds. For a while, this spring, I fought it banging on the window to scare them away. But then I thought I think there’s more than enough to share and I just started putting out more bird feed now the smaller birds come and the bigger black birds, but there’s enough that no one goes hungry and there’s a better vibe.
