A Personal Share for International Volunteer Day 🇺🇸🇺🇦

I’ll never forget my first international volunteer experience in 2022 at the humanitarian center in Przemyśl, Poland 🇵🇱. I went expecting nothing in return—only to support Ukrainians displaced by the aggressor’s war.

🗣️One moment stayed with me: a simple “thank you” from those I came to help. But it wasn’t about me—it was about our collective effort and shared #humanity.🌍

Celebrating GBIF #volunteers 💚

Volunteers deliver incredible value to the GBIF network each year through translation services, reviewing content, mentoring, hosting training sessions and acting as GBIF ambassadors.

This year, more than 2,000 hours of volunteer activities across 55 countries were delivered! 🤯

To commemorate these achievements, 253 volunteer digital badges were issued to 175 active volunteers in 2025! 💚

For my final bit of Three Rings volunteering this International Volunteer Day, I'm working on improving the UI of a new upcoming feature: a spreadsheet-like page that makes it easy for administrators to edit the details of many volunteers simultaneously (all backed by the usual level of customisation and view/edit permissions that Three Rings is known for).

It's a moderately-popular request, and I can see it being helpful to volunteer coordinators at many different types of voluntary organisation.

Don't have time to write up the test instructions today, though, because I've got to wrap up my volunteering and go do some childwrangling, so that'll do for now!
