#Journal of a slightly relieved Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday, 17/12/2025).
I had a bit of a mixed night. Part with bad dreams and my body hurting some, but then I fell asleep again, and I got some more sleep in. I woke up about 45 minutes before the alarm was set to go off. According to my watch, I got about 7 hours of sleep. The scale was a wee bit kinder, which was nice. I got dressed, took my meds, packed my bag, and Skoosh and I skedaddled towards the gym.
At the gym, I checked my socials while I enjoyed my protein shake. Then I got to the seated bike. I rode it for 20 minutes. After that, I managed to do three arm exercises. The massage chairs were taken, so I switched my shoes, and headed back home.
Back home, I washed up, got to the couch, and decided to "just" get some eBooks ready for my mum. So, of course, after about two hours... I realized I still needed to write my journal post... 🫣 So, after some brekky, I quickly started working on that. I was able to finish it, which felt good. Then, after sitting with my laptop for quite a while, my body needed to move around a bit.
I got to the treadmill, where I walked for half an hour. After that, I finished up on some of the books, or so I thought, before relaxing on the couch for a while with my Kobo. When it was time, I got my laptop bag, and my other one, and I headed to Skoosh.
We went to Nijmegen. First, I walked a little bit with Bas. After that, mum and I went to the city center. We wanted to sell some old gold, and change mum's cellphone provider. The jewelry didn't open in time, so mum and I walked to the phone store first.
The gentleman that helped us was very excited about him helping us... As I knew exactly what I needed, and how I should do it, it was a breeze for him to get things arranged... He told mum and me that he wished all his customers were as prepared as I was. I told him "yeah, that's autistic preparation working at its best", and he laughed and told me it was his pleasure to help me arrange what I (and mum) needed. 😊
When we got back to the jewelry, they were open for business. But my, it was so warm inside! Mum gave her jewelry, and they declined the silver. So we could only hand in the gold bits. Mum got a nice amount for her few things. Mine for a bit more, as I had more to "get rid off" (as much as I loved my wedding ring when I/we bought it, it's just bad memories now...). They wrote up the receipt. I was to expect the funds in about two weeks, due to the holidays and things going through their headquarters. Well, I need it late April, so two weeks waiting wasn't an issue.
Mum needed the ATM on the way back to Skoosh. Her first withdrawal worked well, but during the second, the machine just started to reboot. Fortunately, we could get the card out... We waited for a bit, but it was so slow, and I didn't trust it anymore, so she'd get the rest of the money the next day... We got to Skoosh and headed back home.
I got my laptop and wanted to "quickly" transfer the books to mum's Kobo. So, of course, the books I had been working on during the night had not properly saved... 😔 Ugh... Just my luck... I worked on a few, and got them to the Kobo. After that, I walked a little bit with Bas before I headed home.
Back home, I made some food, and enjoyed it while watching some telly. I was reading a bit when my neighbor texted me, as the black 🖤 fluff was ready for a walk. 😊 We had a nice one, and he got his scratches and, more importantly, his snacks! 😉
After that, I got ready to head to bed. It didn't take too long to fall asleep. And I woke up once from a bit of a weird dream, but I managed to get to the loo, get back to bed, and fall asleep again. I woke up about half an hour before the alarm was set. I got up and started my "day".
