#ZodiacalLight from #Oxfordshire, UK on 25th Feb '25. It's the faint triangle of light that extends up from #Venus to the Pleiades, caused by sunlight reflecting off #InterplanetaryDust. It's a challenge from here because of increasing light pollution. 39x25sec + 20 darks, Canon 1100D +10mm lens. #Jupiter, #Uranus, #M31 the #AndromedaGalaxy & #M33 the #TriangulumGalaxy are also visible in the image. Is the origin of the 'unknown UV absorber' in the atmosphere of #Venus attributable to interplanetary dust particles? There are some signs that it may be.

I had about an hour after sunset last night to try to capture the cone of #ZodiacalLight (sunlight illuminating #InterplanetaryDust) before the Moon rose & I got it! Canon 1100D +10mm lens, 19 x 25sec ISO-1600 f/4.5. Stacked using #Sequator Oxfordshire, UK

Western sky after sunset with a faint cone of light extending up from the horizon towards Jupiter and The Pleaides
