En attendant Kim Deal, j’ai réalisé que ce gars si avenant par messagerie était systématiquement évitant IRL et là le problème ne venait pas de mon anxiété sociale ou de ma phobie de déranger. Ah ok. On my way home from seeing Kim Deal, who was great. An excellent gig already and then she brought Dave Grohl onto the stage and the place went nuts.
Tonight I’m seeing Kim Deal at The Roundhouse. A gig I’m really looking forward to.
Saw a lot of new bands that were channeling a 1990s indie energy, and felt like I'd seen so many of them in better incarnations in the 1990s.
Kim Deal is an original. At one point she struggled to read some Portuguese to the crowd, snarled 'LET ME FINISH!' - and there we were, back 30 years.
Plus she gave us Cannonball, and did Gigantic as a tribute to Steve Albini. #Goddess
For the 30th anniversary of Last Splash, I got #TheBreeders lineup—#KimDeal, Kelly Deal, Josephine Wiggs, and Jim Macpherson—to talk Cannonball, tape disasters, accidental experiments, and rediscovering a forgotten tracks.
They also told the story of “Divine Mascis,” a version of “Divine Hammer” featuring #JMascis on vocals, and how it secretly helped them fix a mixing mistake from 1993. And if we'll ever see #TanyaDonnelly jump on stage again.
