Heute vor 30 Jahren begann das Live-Rollenspiel "Wouvelaar".

Aber das war mein erstes #LARP.

Trinkets and trees:
Before the big summer rain swept in, I was grateful for a spot in the shade. The trees offered it freely. And so I stretched my legs beneath the canopy of green and spent the hours crafting new jewellery pieces for our forest collection.
Each one is a unique creation, inspired by woodland colours and shaped by hand – meant for someone just as one-of-a-kind. Many designs will never return in the same form, as they feature small-batch, glazed ceramic beads that are no longer available in larger numbers.
🌲✨ If you're lucky, a touch of forest magic might await you next time we set up our travelling stall.

Bevor der große Regen kam, war ich dankbar für einen Platz im Schatten. Die Bäume haben ihn mir geschenkt. Und ich habe die Zeit genutzt, um die Beine auszustrecken und unter dem grünen Blätterdach neue Schmuckstücke für unsere Wald-Kollektion herzustellen.
Jedes davon ist ein Unikat – inspiriert von den Farben des Waldes und so einzigartig wie das Wesen, das es eines Tages tragen wird. Viele Designs werden in dieser Form nicht wiederkommen, da sie handgearbeitete Perlen aus glasiertem und gebranntem Ton enthalten, die nur in kleiner Stückzahl verfügbar sind.

Had a good LARP day today.
I used to do a lot of LARP stuff, mostly fantasy linear stuff, with occasional other stuff, like horror weekenders. Then I didn't.
A few years ago I tried (along with the rest of the family) a club that runs medium-sized (about 150 people) weekend events, and while the community was awesome, I just struggled to enjoy it at all, and stopped going (the others in the family still go).
Maybe LARP was no longer a thing for me.
I have now started going back to Fools & Heroes, one of the systems I used to play 25+ years ago, and have just played my second session, and while a lot has changed, I really enjoyed it both times, and today I was feeling my confidence starting to come back. I'll definitely keep going when I can.
If my mojo continues to return, maybe I'll give that weekend group another shot. Going in with more confidence and comfort might make all the difference.

Durch den Wechsel in eine andere Welt ist es für mich erholsamer als an einen realen Ort zu fahren. Ich hätte noch locker eine Woche weiterspielen können.
Leider ruft wieder die Arbeit.
Und vorher natürlich die Waschmaschine.

Das erste Jahr im Kostüm. Doch heute werde ich sicherlich eingehen. 28 Grad sind heute angesagt. #LARP #unterwegsmitKamera
Riffing on recent discourses, frustrates me to no end we ignore:
1) Parlour games that are clearly TTRPGs and LARPs (but for timing & social framing) well-preceding the wargaming/D&D-born line.
2) Seeing tabletop roleplaying games as parlour games, esp beer & pretzels/one-pagers.
I should know better than go on a #larp without my leather toolkit. But in a pinch, just a needle and thread will do to fix the straps on this WW2-era helmet. Air defence? Fire brigade? Who knows.
Very good for not getting hit over the head in tight quarters melée, though. And to keep the sunn off my face, which is why I brought it today.
