A brief reprieve from the heat here in the plains. We have received 4.38" (11.13cm) of rainfall this morning with more on the way. Add that to .54" (1.37cm) yesterday - an amazing rainfall for the end of June. That gave us a break in the heat, and exposed a new leak in the roof (some extensive repairs coming up).
Still working (slowly) on old photos. We have not been traveling with the political uncertainty, and the loss of the lake (fate still unresolved) at the Nature Sanctuary has greatly reduced the abundance and variety of birds. We lost all out Lotus 3 years ago in extreme drought, and planned changes in the marsh may mean they will not come back.
Each flower is unique, and beautiful in full sun, but they become magical in shade. Here I boosted edge effects to bring our texture. Again, shooting into deep shadow and underexposed. Color balance on far right petal.
