#LSFMMBPF

I just posted [1] my third LSF/MM/BPF 2026 [2] topic proposal. Hopefully this is my last topic proposal for the conference.

Subject of the proposal is: "DAMON Updates: Tiering, Pagel Level Monitoring and DAMON-X"

[$] Reconsidering the multi-generational LRU

The multi-generational LRU (MGLRU) is an alternative memory-management algorithm that was merged for the 6.1 kernel in late 2022. It brought a promise of much-improved performance [...]

I'm honored to get the LSF/MM/BPF invitation [1], and just booked the hotel. Looking forward to meet my friends and upstream community colleagues in Zagreb!

Just posted my second LSF/MM/BPF topic proposal [1] for per-CPUs/threads/reads/writes access monitoring extension of DAMON. Please read my blog post [2] if you are interested in more contexts of the extension project.

Two LSF/MM/BPF related DAMON news.

1. I proposed [1] an LSF/MM/BPF session for discussing how production-level data access-aware transparent hugepages can be developed.

2. DAMON has nominated [2] as one of Linux kernel Machine Lerarning Library's demonstration targets.

Be sure to request an invite to 2026 in Zagreb, Croatia!

@LWN LWN made an excellent summary of the two DAMON sessions that we had at LSFMM+BPF 2025: https://lwn.net/Articles/1016525/

I just sent two sets of patches for DAMON-based tiered memory management [1] and access/contiguity-aware memory scaling[2]. These have been on the back burner for a while, but I was able to get a little more work done this time around because they are the main topics of tomorrow's LSFMM session - presentation-driven development definitely works!

The recording of my talk at #lsfmmbpf is now online: youtu.be/9p4qviq60z8 I talk about a proof of concept which explores how we could make #ebpf safer without having to rely on signing BPF itself. Uses kfuncs, BPF LSM, #fsverity and IMA under the hood.

It's been a great week at LSFMMBPF and OSSummit NA. Best of all, I don't think I'll be wasting any time shopping for t-shirts for a while.

LSF/MM/BPF topic for DAMON's status and future plans[1] has scheduled[2] for next Monday. I will also have a user-space focused DAMON talk[3] at OSSummit NA, which will be held on the week. Looking forward to the discussions!
