This domed cistern dates to #Roman times and remains functional today. I stepped inside the doorway to the sounds of frogs croaking loudly. Rainwater filters through the dome and is collected in a cool shady shallow pool. On top of the distant hill you can see the ruins of two Roman mausoleums.
