Well, so far the #wildfire smoke forecast for #Winnipeg hasn’t arrived…yet. A quick look shows degraded air quality in smoke pretty much everywhere *except* Winnipeg. Satellite imagery shows several plumes of smoke dancing around the city, but it looks most likely that the plume to the east from the Nopiming Provincial Park fire will shift into the city this afternoon. #MBwx

The #wildfire situation continues to deteriorate today in #Manitoba. Fires are thriving in hot, dry conditions and smothering most of the province in smoke, either at the surface or aloft. Several communities will be in danger over the coming days/weeks, including but not limited to Flin Flon and Lynn Lake. Over 17,000 people have been displaced due to mandatory wildfire-caused evacuations which is largest displacement in Manitoba's recent history. #MBwx
