#McCake

Took a moment and fixed the issue with my crashing #Pentium 200MMX system. Now the #PicoGUS with #WP32 #McCake wavetable if running #MonkeyIsland they way it's supposed to run :-) There's also a #Vibra16 card in there, which is unused for this game.

The issue? #IRQ, obviously. The introduction of a SATA controller meant that IRQ 5 previously used by the PicoGUS was grabbed by the controller and the system died with playing audio.

Nice to know the tech skills of the #90s are still there.

And sorry about the video quality - I got all excited and didn't care.

Mission accomplished - even though I obviously printed it in the wrong color! :D

And don't worry about my soldering skills - I was too lazy to get my glasses, but it works! :D

The specific version I have installed, is the WP32 McCake WaveTable board, mounted on a PicoGUS ISA card.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but the #Commodore 386-SX16 seems rock solid in comparison to the super flaky #aptiva.

Slow as hell, partially incompatible graphics but with a spiffy new #SoundBlaster compatible ISA card. This is the perfect rig for early #Sierra and #LucasArts games. Maybe I should get a #MT32-Pi #McCake WaveTable board for it, or maybe that's a little overkill.

#vintagecomputing #MSDOS build progressing. #Pentium 200 with #TsengLabs #ET6000 graphics, CF for storage, #Gotek for floppies and a #PicoGUS with the #McCake #WP32 #MT32Pi wave table add on. Output looped into a #SoundBlaster Vibra 16C for full Gravis Ultrasound, Sound Blaster, Roland and General Midi support. Excellent for all things DOS. Aiming for early to mid 90s games and demos, including point and click adventures from #Sierra and Lucas as well as some of the excellent demos from that time. I'm talking #MonkeyIsland, #LeisureSuitLarry and #FutureCrew and their #SecondReality demo. Tested the latter and got something in my eye. Oh the feels.
