During festivities, the church square is decorated with heavy, wooden flagpoles. Because the poles are so heavy, lifting them for each event would be impractical. A tall doorway opens into a high-ceilinged storage room, allowing two people to carry the flagpoles in and store them upright.

The decoration over the door is floral, but really reminds of some monster with an open mouth (like the Orcus in the Sacro Bosco of Bomarzo). This is also emphasized by the small bat placed above the entry lantern.
