Как я наваял «конкурента» для клиента Nextcloud Talk Desktop из-за собственной лени

Бывало ли у вас так, что вы придумали у себя в голове идеальное приложение, в котором есть все вам необходимое (ну или хотя бы какой-то обязательный минимум)? Вот вы нашли приложение, которое должно решать те задачи, что вы себе придумали, но как только принялись его проверять в действии, пришли к выводу, что все совсем не так радостно. Вот вы сказали себе: "Ну ладно, это же опенсорс! Значит можно попробовать что-то с этим сделать своими силами. Заодно и внести посильный вклад в развитие этого продукта. Что может быть лучше?" Но реальность оказалась иной. Код для непрограммиста оказался довольно сложный, принятая разработчиками архитектура приложения также вызывает вопросы (конечно, скорее всего только у меня) и т.д. К чему это я? Начну с небольшой предыстории.

Threema just released the demo for there Desktop 2.0 app on Android.

Sadly it does not support Perfect Forward Secrecy at the moment of speaking. So no testing for me I guess.

@heiseonline I always wonder why those #Messager apps that use Phone numbers are so hyped. I find it rather difficult to get a #DonorSim for each of them to perform #Signup. I always wonder how such a system can get any serious userbase!

There is #Matrix/#Element which does not have those problems and is therefor much easier to use!

We have so many chat tools today. Maybe too many and they are not opent to each other. This video compare the most of them in angle of privacy and technical aspect. This video does not talk from the perspective of use. How easy it is to register and or to use and or how popular it is. But I recommend to see because we it is easy to understand and we can learn many things. If you use the best tool but your contact doesn’t have it it is  useless.

I even know Wickr and session chat messager.

- It must be Free Software to become my main Messager. (does not apply to signal/threema/telegram etc)

- It must have Federation.

- It must have multidevice/multios support, lets face it, the times when we had 1 trusted device are over!
