A popular MCU platform offers a high-side switch on the 3v3 rail, presumably to save power. Problem: just having the switched 3v3 on uses ~1.1mA. The MCU driving this switch has 3v3 IO, no level-shifting required, could drive Q7 directly (no pull-up or inverter required). Using 3v3_S for a pull-up blows sleep current up from 17uA to 1100uA (need pull-ups on external interrupt pins that work in sleep) #Engineering #Design #Micropower
