Super happy with my #TFNation haul, but the fan creations I picked up warm my heart even more. I’ll see if I can get them together in a photo too.

I was looking for an Encore #Metroplex all day and finally ran across him about two minutes *after* closing.

The #TripleTakeover podcast enabled me on the #Minicons and #Energon stuff! But I’m happy for it, that line is brimming with inspired toy design!

A brunch of robots in and outsider of boxes, all lined up on the floor for the photo. An Encore Metroplex box dominates the center of an image, and a bunch of carbots from a Binaltech Swindle down to a whole bunch of minicons are lined up in front.

UNICRON Yes folks, the planet-munching Universal Dominator is here from the Armada toy-line circa 2003! (or should that be 2005?)

One of two of the largest [Official] Transformers in Transformer Lore (Check out "Univorsum" if you want possibly the biggest Transformer ever designed!) Armada Unicron was the first official toy of this gigantic G1 dark god and possibly every TF fan in the world has one by now, the toy having become so incredibly popular that Hasbro and Takara have released numerous versions since this grand original.

Armada Unicron in his terrifying Planet mode! Seen face-on Unicron is a roughly spherical form with a large circular mouth or maw. The mouth has gigantic grabbing pincers either side of it. The whole planet is surrounded by a gigantic ring around the circumference of the sphere NOT the equator as you'd see on Saturn etc. The ring is connected to the planet via posts at each of the cardinal compass points, North, West, South and East. It being enormously difficult to get a human-form robot into a purely spherical shape in terms of engineering, and especially at a retail price point parents could afford to buy for their children, the illusion isn't perfect, spoiled by some very obvious leg and arm 'kibble' (the name Transformers fans give to parts that are obviously from the toy's OTHER mode in any mode) but who cares when the toy is this good?!?A closer shot of the fearsome Maw of Unicron, taken from one side. The jaws on the toy can be activated by pressing the pincers at either side bringing those serrated plates together in fearsome style. Notably, this version of Unicron has six missiles poking forwards from his lower hemisphere.Unicron Transformed to gigantic robot mode! For a while he considered sparing the wretched planet Cybertron but now you shall witness its dismemberment! This toy was one of the most articulated figures ever created in Transformers toy history, famously have working FINGERS that could be posed separately. This photo has captured him doing the signs of the horns, a bit of a joke because Unicron himself has horns atop his head. That planetary ring opens to become a pair of almost wing-like structures either side of his collosal form. This toy also features a robot chest that hinges open to launch yet another large missile from inside! He also has light effects - the toy designers went all out on this baby!A close up of his robot mode head. The eyes are lit up a fearsome red colour. Astonishingly this still works 20 years later. His right fist also lights up, because reasons, being made of translucent plastic.
