I rewrote some of the tragedy I've been working on moving from Shakespeare's 16th century to Morvelet's Fifth Era.

You see, Morvelet didn't write in Eorzean. Or even Early Modern Eorzean. He wrote in Middle Eorzean. And so his REAL language goes a little like this:

Ye blockes, ye stones, ye duller than bestaille!
O ye harde hertes, ye felouns of Allage,
Knewe ye nat Pompêy? Many a tyme and ofte
Have ye y-clumben up to mansiouns hye,
To railes and landing paddes, ye, to vent-stackes,
Your infantes in your armes, and ther have sat
Al the longe day, with pacient expectacioun,
To seen grete Pompêy passe the stretes of Allage.

Yeah. I fucking turned Shakespeare into Morvelet into FUCKING CHAUCER, then I kept the iambic pentameter anyway.

I can do motherfucking ANYTHING! 🎆

And who can forget the most important line in the entire play, voiced by

Gwyk m’mågt, Brwtus?

You might be wondering WTF. That statement is adapted from ancient Egyptian phonemes, and ancient Egypt is the culture I've based Allag on. (Think, like, a radpunk Egyptian society.)

Here's the rest of the related footnote so you can understand the work I've put into this. 😊

"Gwyk m’mågt, Brwtus?" means "And you, Brwtus?” spoken aloud in the ancient Allagan language. It is likely pronounced, “Goo-ik m-muhgt, Brootus.” The “m” ahead of the indirect form of the Allagan second person singular pronoun “mågt” is an abbreviated first person possessive pronoun ("mẽkh"). Consequently, “m’mågt” is an intimate, even affectionate, indirect pronoun, and the literal translation of “gwyk m’mågt” is “and my-you.” The use of this grammatical construction further emphasizes the impact of Brwtus’s betrayal of Julỹs Kaĩsar.

Also, this play takes place centuries prior to the Crystal Tower's construction and yet mentions it all the time. Shakespeare/Morvelet and his anachronisms, am I right? 😉
