Newest #NailArt - I'm not super thrilled but it'll do for now. I went through my whole stamp collection twice and didn't see anything I liked. I tried adding little cloth/plastic flowers, but they wouldn't lay flat and several of them immediately discolored in the polish. So I took them all off and just used a stamp that I'm not excited about. Oh well. #NailPolish #NailDesign #Nails

Red flakie nail polish topped with gold stamps. Design is hearts and apples in stylized tree branches.

So instead of a sponge gradient, I painted stripes directly onto my nails. It took less time, was easier to clean up, and was much more saturated and vibrant. But my lines are uneven and stark, without the blending that comes from sponge application. So I wasn't as happy with it as I have been with sponge gradients.

This lead me to apply a stamp pattern on top, and that made all the difference. I'm really happy with how this turned out!

Gradient: ILNP's Olive Grove, Hayride, Penny, and Royalty.
Stamps: Heaven's Hula Girl (black) topped with What's Up Nails' Go For Gild.

My most recent #NailDesign is in honor of tonight's Two Headed Giant #EDH event at our local game store. I played Mana Shenanigans (bracket 3: Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury) and Buu played Froggies (bracket 3: Helga, Skittish Seer). There were no prizes, just raffles (which we didn't win), but we went undefeated in our games, as I'd hoped we would!

Game 1: versus Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls (precon) and Vivi Ornitier. The Vivi player said his deck was "balanced" (but he also said his goal was to "play 30 spells per turn"). And he said he had no game-changers, but played Chrome Mox early. It's cool, I used Apex Altisaur to kill most of their dudes, then Buu copied Apex Altisaur to kill the rest of their dudes. Then I used Umbral Mantle and Circle of Dreams Druid the following turn for infinite pumps.

This week's look is inspired by the Kediss/Malcolm deck I'll be playing at the Pauper EDH event this Saturday. I don't have a lot of confidence in my chances with the deck. I've only tested it in one game and got stomped. I've since taken out a couple islands and added a couple mountains, so hopefully the mana base is more favorable this time. But either way, I hope everyone has fun!

My Little Pwnies: white pegasi and unicorns (Thurid, Mare of Destiny)

ElemElkal: green/white (we just cut the red this week) +1/+1 counters bonanza (Marath, Will of the Wild) - I'm pretending the sleeves are a dark forest, not swamps.

August 2013: started painting my nails

March 2015: Fed up with how my thin nails break, peel, & cause my nail designs to start chipping in 1-2 days, I start paying professionals to add clear builder gel to my nails. Designs last until removed, but I have to pay for a fill every 2-3 weeks.

September 2019: I buy the tools & supplies required to start doing my own gel. (Boy, was THAT good timing..)

November 2024: Fed up with the gel popping off various nails on my right hand every couple days, I stop filling gel & allow my nails to grow out.

April 2025: Again fed up with how my natural nails flex, break, peel, & make my nail polish chip after only a couple days, I reapply gel, using false tips to extend the length.

I hope it stays stuck again! I really like this design! I'm probably gonna repeat it with different colors for a while.

Nails are "long" as far as I'm concerned, since they go past the finger tip, but are "short" compared to what most people wear as long nails. Tips are rounded. Overall shapes are slightly lumpy because shaping nails is difficult and I am not a professional.
