/ folks. Do we actually need the 2024 apreadsheet? I could delete it and reduce some confusion.

@wiloma thoughts?

It's July, which means it is time to get serious about on Juky 14. Send your submissions to @wiloma. You can sign up to be a DJ 13-15.

If you want to be involved in the panel, lmk! We need both musicians and tech folks

I've been sick and ridiculously busy so I'm behind where I would like to be and really don't have much hope of catching up so if folks could help out it would be really appreciated. Even a boost helps.

Alright folks, it's time for a topo!

For the forthcoming #NetlabelDay on Jul14th we confirm the albums :

-Iris, #instrumental #punkrock by The Big Circus Project
-Onirismology, #electro #idm by DidJaws
-The 01-06-05 Sessions 20th Anniversary Edition, #powerpop #punk by Gorbie's Stuff

As of #netlabel #music, it's #ccmusic under #creativecommons licenses, like #byncsa or #byncnd and made available for free with no account, subscription, tracking, DRMs and other evil.

Turns out this is happening today

2025-06-16

Weeks passed and it's now clear we won't be able to catch up with the schedule to issue #FrankenBath on time for this year's #netlabelday

But we are gathering, according to the #byncnd license which requires an authorization for derivative works, the opinion of Gorbie's Stuff former members for the 20th anniversary of their debut release, The 01-06-05 Session, for a 20th anniversary mastered one, and two bonus track would be added. For this year's #netlabelday2025 ! #noiserock #netlabel

INTRODUCING: Ground Hum, a new concept net label based in Trentino, Italy.

First batch coming soon.

2025-06-13

It started quietly with two singles during 2024 on @dogmazic ; then in October a third track and the completely official cover art were made available through our overlay (read, trusted) network web presences ( #Hyperboria and #Yggdrasil networks).

Now it's making its way to the clearnet, neatly, it's the currently (and probably for long) growing Still Living Creature #electro next album, it"s The Day For A Release cremroad.com/?album=The%20Day% #ccmusic #byncsa #netlabel #idm

@mcc thanks for the tip.

The mnml house or dub techno sound from the 00s is one of my favourites.

This reminds me of albums from that Thinner. They are still available on e.g. archive.org

had to manually put this on peertube: dalek.zone/w/5Fg48pH3ta4mJhp55

We discuss some interesting future plans, & I think #ccmusic folks should check it out.

1 idea was to do a "Survival for Musicians" course. We'll need some help if that is something we are actually going to do.

Some questions we might answer:
What to do if your tour van get stuck in the snow?
What to do if your pyrotechnics catch your underground show on fire?

We also discussed language courses, but more difficult #netlabel

& , curious where we are right now as a scene. Please boost!

By right now, if you were previously releasing but have no plans to ever do it again for whatever reasons, please do boost but don't select an option. If you are making music privately and might release it in the future, select hobbyist.

Net Native Music is a term I have come up with to describe our scene.

Would love to have some more granularity here but I'm only given four options.

Pulled this from Omar's facebook:

Officially, Netlabel Day 2025 begins this year at 15 July 2024 Line Island Time (GMT+14)
Send me at info@netlabelday.org the linkz at least one track, one album, one playlist under a free sharing license (usually Creative Commons), and ensure it is released either without cost or pay-what-you-can for at least the week of 14 July through 20 July. It can even be a single track, freely licensed, from a normally full-price album.
If you have no music you want to release on 14 July itself, I will accept ANY album or single or mixtape or radio show or vodcast or playlist ALREADY RELEASED IN 2025,
If you're keen to do a mix or a show, live or recorded: Check the fancy spreadsheet to behold the majestic timeline of 51 hours, spanning all time zones across the world. You can choose your slot for chaos. Drop me a show between 15-120 minutes (you choose) in which you can do DJ mixes, perform live studio music, spin vinyl, chop bits, promote the cause of sonic anarchy, etc. Please be sure you lean heavily on Creative Commons music in the mix.
If you're keen to livestream a concert on the Netlabel Day Radio station, sign up as above for your chosen slot.
And again if you don't have new music, anthologies rule. I myself put together several last year from Magnatune, Jazz Goa, Jazzaria, and Musopen. Even better if they have liner notes of some sort so that we can educate folks about this crazy wide world of Creative Commons, Art Libre, GPL, PD, and otherwise freely licensed music that tells corporate music to go pleasure itself in a corner somewhere.
info@netlabelday.org is the default address for shenanigans, but contact.netlabelday@gmail.com or omar@seattlestar.net works, too

We still need 3 artists and 3 for the panels on Saturday, July 12. Artists do not need to be affiliated with a to participate.

The panels will take place on jitsi.

The point is simply to get folks together and talk about where we are as a community heading into the 11th

Panels moderated by @wiloma.

Plz lmk if you are interested.

Setting up your own regional panels is highly encouraged. Lmk if you need help with setting things up

Was reading a blog post where I said I don't like the term . It is largely for the same reason "moving to the cloud" is so stupid.

But Cloud Native means something. perhaps Net Native Audio can mean something too.

Perhaps the same thing can be applied to though I think has a meaning most people that would actually care about such a thing understand even if it's slightly amorphous. In any case, something to think about for folks

Well, the talk with @tmray never auto-synced, so I did it manually, so now it's on PeerTube: dalek.zone/w/5WseJavSA4tkXfVM1

I'll put out an actual @jjj announcement probably tomorrow but one of the things we never got back to was the discussion of what JJJ actually is. I wrote about it, and linked to several videos where there is a lot of discussion and example of the things that went into what JJJ is.

& folks may want to check it out:
