A bit of UK Barn find action for everyone.
For once seems to involve an actual barn!
Incredible that the 100 plus year old Talbot survived 40 years in there!

Stumbled across this 1965 review of the new #Renault 16.
In which we learn about 18 seconds to 100kmh is perfectly acceptable performance for a family car, you can get a lot of suitcases in an R16, it's a bit #French, and reviewers back then were very committed. So much so that I am not sure I would have wanted to have bought that particular R16!

Here's a Pathe News story about a quick respray service where for 21 Guineas you could have your 60's car painted any colour your in a day!
Safe to say I have concerns about the long-term prospects for your shiny new paint job!
This film is very of its era, I believe the tone would be very different if this was made today!

Some great photos by @ObsidianUrbex here for #WeirdCarMastodon folks.
Kind of sad that some of those cars were lost to enthusiasts 😢

Saw this parked up in the street this morning. Until I saw the #Holden badge I thought it was an odd Vauxhall, which I suppose it might well share some DNA with. The UK plate on this is early 60s, would this be closely related to an early Viva?

Amazing the things people do for love and remembrance, it seems this old dealer showroom and cars were preserved as a sort memorial to the last owner by his widow.

For today's #WeirdCarMastodon #NameThatCar challenge we have something a little bit older than the TVR which was last vehicle. It's big, it's black but can you name it from this unusual view of the wing?
This one is definitely a Classic Car!

So #WeirdCarMastodon folks after an unscheduled break, for which I can only apologise, it's the return of the #NameThatCar challenge.

Today's images are I think very distinctive, I suspect one would need to know their American cars, to be able to get it.

There is a big chrome bumper below the lights and thick chrome strip around the rear panel. A little piece of bodywork is visible it is mainly marine blue with a white stripe. The answer to the outstanding #NameThatCar challenge is a car that I like the look of, but have never really desired, despite owning its siblings! I would like to drive one sometime! The image with its odd vents made a few folks to think "rear-engined" whereas it is in fact Triumph's pocket homage to the E-Type, the #Triumph #GT6 MKIII. The vents are either cabin air or just decoration!
Well done if you got it right!

For our next #WeirdCarMastodon #NameThatCar challenge we have a cat that was once a mainstream staple.
While earlier generations of this car could be found all over the world this version less so. Still it's a strong design and might yet be a classic!

Turning to our outstanding #NameThatCar challenge. This one attracted a couple of left field responses, sadly I must disappoint and say it is not a Maxi 😲 , or even an American version of one!
The car is a many of you figured out a Dodge Charger, I am not sure what the British version would be, perhaps a Vauxhall Magnum?
Thanks for all the guesses, well done if you got it right!

Right-hand side of a light metallic brown car. The bonnet is open, showing a large bonnet spring and hinge mechanism. The car has a large door with a round chrome door mirror and chrome handle. The A-Pillar appears to be white, suggesting a white roof. The car is evidently left-hand-drive. A light coloured interior is partial visible, on the dashboard is a magazine, the word American is visible, the rest of the cover is coloured out red to hide the text!

The answer to the outstanding #NameThatCar challenge is a car that would have been an object of desire in my youth, affordable performance compared to a hot hatch.
It is a #Ford #Escort MK1 #Mexico which I spotted for sale at a petrol station for £32k, isn't even an original Mexico.
Kudos to @philturpin who explained the difference between a Mexico and an RS, stripe positioning! Thanks for the guesses, well done if you got it right.

For the next #WeirdCarMastodon #NameThatCar challenge we here is something to reflect on... See what I did there!
Can you name it from this image? I should say I don't belive these were sold in North America but versions of it were offered in a number of established global markets and famously this car did get to other parts of the Americas.

The answer to the outstanding #NameThatCar challenge was as many spotted a #Rover P5B Coupe. It's not the most obvious Coupe. As these are indistinguishable from the saloon from the front corner I will take Rover P5. This is a car associated with Margaret Thatcher, while out of production by the time she became PM HMG having purchased the end of production vehicles, kept them in use by Minsters into the 80s.
Well done if you got it. #WeirdCarMastodon #ClassicCars #OldTimerCars #RoverP5B
