Spent a very enjoyable evening in #Aberteifi at the #OtherVoices #LleisiauEraill festival. #LowriEvans was brilliant. And #FiaMoon very engaging and promising. Looking forward to tomorrow’s acts.

A really important post from my writer friend Kristine Kathryn Rusch, about the current Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction scandal (one of the oldest in the field still publishing, which recently accidently bought a story from a writer with white supremist ties and handled the blowback poorly. The current editor is a woman and her male publisher did not support her in canceling the contract when she found out.)
Kris goes deep into the history of the very white-male, old-money-centric, traditional publishing industry, and her own history editing (decades ago) said-same magazine as well as her troubling history with the same publisher. If you're a writer representing any non-white-male voice, you should read this to know what's broken about the industry, and why indie publishing is really something you should (and may be forced to) explore.
