Wanted to mention this game that I have found to be a great gem. If you are a fan of scifi / role playing / adventure, it doesn't get better than this.
The hardware requirements are reasonable it looks great and plays well. For some reason it was not a hit, but we can change that.
Just finished Outcast: A New Beginning. It was great fun! Fun movement, fun combat, ridiculous dialogue, a very pretty world. Well tuned character development. And Gork.
No idea why this wasn't a commercial success, but then games that are often don't gel with me (for example, Assassin Creed was IMHO total garbage).
If you're weird like me, try it.

Galenta - creature animation test
After hating on the Outer Worlds, another Sci-Fi game to try:
Outcast: A New Beginning, which is actually a continuation of the original 1999 Outcast.
Basically Avatar (although the setting predates the movie by a decade) and instead of glum and depressing like the Outer Worlds, it's pretty and goofy.
The silly dialogue with the natives has me chuckling at times, the combat is simple fun and the jet pack for flying and gliding around makes getting places enjoyable, even if it is to kill 3 rats or some alien crab equivalent.
Plus the tropical island planet is much prettier and colourful and nobody thought to use a bloody desaturation filter.
Simple fun to jump in and relax.
I went back to school, but I wasn't really there. There were all of these placating tones and widespread concern from people who couldn't care less about me before- people I didn't even exist to before.

Just over a decade and a half ago, I created a character called Evil Death Robot. It 's back story is that it was built to be an assassin AI robot, but rolled off the assembly line with a conscience. It had empathy that it had to try and hide from it's evil masters. But, It was still considered defected, and ended up being locked in a store room.
When I created this character, it was before I knew that I am autistic, but in retrospect, I can see that is what I'm basing it on. It's that notion of being outcast for having feelings and not actually being inside what everyone on the outside expects you to be. A notion that also goes far beyond just autism, when being outcast for who you are.
This artwork was created in 2009, when I was in an experimental phase of using photography in the artwork to create the base texture of elements. I did stop doing it like that though.
