@bthalpin The history of Irish creative use of #PRSTV is a bit of a chicken-and-egg issue. To what extent did decline of #FiannaFail and #FineGael drive more creative use of #STV, and how much did clever use of STV hurt #FFFG?
I think it's actually the same phenomenon. For decades, Irish voters were mostly happy with the choice of FF or FG. Later, new political goals drove voters to new parties and new tactics.

@foufoutos The final results were confirmed today - a function of Ireland's very fair and representative voting system, and not because of an offensive stereotype.
It's been a long few days for the #EE24 count staff.
As much as I enjoyed Gavan Reilly's spreadsheets, they were missing bits on transfer efficiency and what the current effective quota it is likely more than 1 elected won't make the quota), so I made my own.

From a quick trawl of social media it seems the Irish Borg-Right is struggling to understand that under PR-STV it's not just about how many people you scare/anger into voting for you.
It's also about how many of the rest of us think you are a colossal prick for doing exactly that.
