Not that there ain't custodial options as well, but if I were to wire-transfer money to a scammer, I'd also have no option to recoup that money either.

Not to mention there are solutions like #PaperWallets that can act as #ColdWallets and allow securing funds through traditional means (i.e. [metal]card in a [bank]vault), so it's neither an unsolved nor unsolveable problem: My suggested options (#NowPayments & #ChangeNow) do offer a #fiat payout onto a bank account at a low fee.

And with #Monero and it's #privacy, there isn't the risk of #kidnappings driven by #BlockchainAnalysis as unlike with #Bitcoin one cannot see the balance, thus not open up a #BlockchainExplorer and list wallets from biggest to lowest balance...

And yes, espechally Bitcoin holders of significant amounts face kidnappings at an elevated rate.

Not gonna claim it's better than #Euro banknotes, but unless you have a bank account in #SEPA where you can use #wero, it's the fastest way to do #CashlessPayments remotely/online...

If one does not take their money off the #exchange and into cold storage, then one is not using bitcoin — but rather a #CloudFlareBankDigitalCurrency.

…aka a #CBDC.

All #exchanges in #Australia are CloudFlare, last we checked.

There are protocols for moving your bitcoin to #coldStorage or #paperWallets, they are not easy to implement but if you have a life-changing amount that you want to preserve you must take you funds off the exchange.

Esse vídeo do #ManualDoMundo ensina uma coisa errada:

O certo é que dá sim para copiar e colar bitcoins. Porque #BITCOIN são dados, e dados por natureza são copiáveis.

Mas, não dá para regastar (gastar/consumir mais de uma vez) através de cópias. Porque ao gastar/consumir qualquer uma das cópias, independente de ser um consumo parcial ou total, as outras cópias que sobraram “apodrecem” tornando-se inúteis para gastar.

Inclusive a cópia dos bitcoins, mais especificamente da carteira bitcoin, é recomendado por quem investe pesado na moeda. Para evitar que o usuário ponha todos o seu dinheiro em um pendrive, por exemplo. E depois o pendrive queima perdendo permanente o acesso a todo o dinheiro que te pertence.

Claro que quanto maior for o número de cópias de sua carteira bitcoin, maior é a chance de alguém, que não foi autorizado por você, te roubar e gastar todo o seu dinheiro sem a sua permissão. Como ocorreu quando um Cracker (hacker não é criminoso!) invadiu o Mercado Bitcoin e roubou milhões de reais brasileiros em bitcoins da plataforma.

Mas, para evitar isso basta não deixar a maioria de sua moedas em plataformas terceirizadas de bitcoin (como Mercado Bitcoin). E por cada uma das copias de sua carteira em locais diversos que sejam seguros, longe do acesso de pessoas não autorizadas, como por exemplo: #paperwallets, o bitcoin de papel. Um tipo cédula de papel imprimível em qualquer impressora doméstica.
