#PinballBlaster

2023-05-06

This #MaySiXth #MSXDay I'm introducing almost-five-years-old #BeardGrabber to #MSX games again. He's probably the same age now as when my parents got our #Philips #NMS8250 #MSX2 #homecomputer, and now, probably about 35 years later, he gets to play on the very same machine, playing the same original copies as I got or bought during my childhood, which feels quite special. 💙
So far we've played some #BubbleBobble, #Brisk and now #PinballBlaster. His #joystick and #keyboard control isn't good yet, but he's still very much enjoying the experience! 💚

I also have some videos of him playing, but I need some time to review the footage to make sure it doesn't show kiddo's face and such. :)

A blond haired boy sitting on a toolbox in front of a TV which shows the opening screen of "Brisk: een levendig spel".
On the floor in front of him is the MSX2 homecomputer that's running the game, with a Philips Music Module and a Panasonic FM-PAC sticking out the side, providing additional music chips for games that support them.
On the shelf on the TV furniture another of the same machines can be seen, as I was experiencing some hardware issues.
A joystick (The Arcade Turbo) can also be seen on the furniture unit. The Loading screen of Brisk; a figure wielding a shield (which is blocking a lightning bolt) and holding a Ying Yang symbol in his other hand, following an arrow path and a ball, while another figure is holding a bomb.
On the TV desk the two transport floppies, a joystick, and the Bubble Bobble cartridge can be seen, as well as MSX DOS 2.20 and 1MB RAM cartridges in a zip lock bagBubble Bobble opening screen.
