Another top book of 2023: The New Animals by #PipAdam. In another life I was interested in the fashion world and was intrigued that Dorothy, a publisher who does no wrong, would pick up this title (originally out in 2017), so I had to read it. Have to say I HATED all the characters at the beginning and was questioning my faith in Dorothy, until, well, the story took a very unexpected turn. Dorothy still does no wrong, and the colour scheme of my top books of the year continues.

Reading The New Animals by #PipAdam, a novel about a New Zealand fashion label, and was stopped by a sentence that says "You can't be an enfant terrible in your forties", because my brain immediately went "but what about Lee McQueen?" But then I looked up how old he was when he died - he was only 40 - and now I'm sad.
