Set up a #Pixelmon server for my friends because we thought it'd be more interesting than plain ol' #Minecraft.

Thus far we've spent all our time building stuff like it's plain ol' Minecraft, and very little time doing actual Pixelmon stuff.

I carved out an unhinged amount of road through this map.

It started deep in the jungle to the west, near the coast at a Raid site, carves through nearly a dozen raid sites and 'once per player' rare chests, into the player town, and eventually all the way across the continent.

There were a handful of useful biomes, rare Pokemon only spawn in certain biomes, that I would connect with paths to help other players.

My favorite Pixelmon server is about to reset, so here's some pics of the town me and another player ran.

We can bring one Pokemon between the old map and the new. I'm torn between a rare 'titled' Lugia and my old reliable Porygon 2.

Building a Sky Base in #Minecraft can be a really interesting challenge.

Especially when you're a brainless idiot like myself, who felt it was absolutely necessary to make a circular main platform with a domed roof. 💀

Alright, so... #PixelMon Part Deux:

Another rough start. But I found myself near a proper town. With a market and a Pokécenter across from each other. Nice biomes surrounding it. Good mix of open area and forrest... Alright, let's see what this mod is all about!

Tried the #Pixelmon #mod for the first time. The latest version of Reforged.

Whilst I appreciate that it starts you off in a town, the world generation is so poor that they're a right mess. And the Biomes Mod isn't doing it any favors. Plus these biomes are so daunting, and towns are so far apart, that looking for a good one to settle near is a very exhausting task. :/

Been playing around with #Minecraft #Pixelmon lately on request of my daughter.

Pixelmon (https://pixelmonmod.com/wiki/Main_Page) is a mod for the Java edition which introduces Pokemon to Minecraft; setting it up is kinda messy since you need to match the versions of 2 different plugins. So I ended up automating server and client set-up.

The server dockerfile and start scripts as well as the client installer script are here: https://github.com/t-lo/minecraft-docker/tree/main/pixelmon in case someone's interested.
