Prompt 30 - a book that reminds you of your childhood - June 27, 2025 - I spent my childhood loving stories like Sherlock Holmes and always wondered why the main character couldn't be a girl. Sherry Thomas made my thoughts come to life with her Lady Sherlock series. This second novel is inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle's short story "A Scandal in Bohemia".

Prompt 47 - a book you have always avoided reading - June 12, 2025 - I avoided the ACOTAR series for a long time because I felt it was overhyped. I've avoided this book because I knew it was more romance than intrigue, and that just doesn't hold my interest. It's a light-hearted, fluffy, sweet, transition novel that just doesn't have enough substance for my liking.

Prompt 42 - a book with a lefthanded character - June 12, 2025 - This one is too teeny bopper for me, but I probably would have loved it when I was a young teenager. The plot has promise, but I found the story took an annoyingly long time to get to the "reveals."

Prompt 12 - a book about a road trip -May 24, 2025- This book is beautifully written. It's the type of story that grips you from the first page and stays with you long after you close the cover. A pirate, the best friend anyone could ever ask for, a missing girl, and a road trip across the country searching for her. Humanity at its best and worst woven into one of the best narratives I've ever read.
