🎶All the leaves are brown, but the sky is blue...
I went to an event last night and the Upper Etowah River Keepers had a table set up with a large banner of this map on it.
As I was talking the woman to learn about the group, I kept looking at the map and realized that the Etowah River basin is everywhere that I love to ride... I feel so lucky living close to this and was able to get out today to snap some pics💕
Mysterious forces at work in the universe that I cannot fully comprehend have placed me in the position of caretaker for this lovely late model R nineT 🏁
Last week, heading up to the mountains, I took a short detour down to the local Caffeine & Octane car show that always attracts a corral of motorcycles
I went out for a ride tonight and the full moon rising was A-OK 👌
I spent the rest of the evening obsessively riding around looking for photogenic spots with the moon rising in in the background. It was tough with a potato cam phone but I think they're alright nonetheless
I got a One Eyed Willie bike trailer thing to drag my bike up to the mountains. This year I'm doing the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride up in a small mountain town not too far from home and got here a day early for the win!
I trekked back down into the city today, this time to actually check out the museum exhibit called "Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys". And it did not disappoint. Way cooler than I expected and these two paintings by Amy Sherald were literally larger than life. Totally worth risking getting a parking ticket.
Got a smug sense of satisfaction parking my iconic bike in front of the fancy art museum down in the city last week in a corner "non-spot" and not paying for parking.
I walked away wondering if I would get a ticket, or even if it would get stolen and just shrugged it off. But alas it was still there looking pretty as a picture when I returned.
I made it out and up a southern ridge of the Cumberland Plateau today on an absolutely beautiful sunny but cold day.
Watched some friends rock climb the craggy ridge walls with turkey vultures circling overhead hoping that we would become snacks 😅

Autumn colors out this morning.
We took a scenic ride out on the cafe out to a cafe about 3 towns over, and upon arriving, I spotted this restored cherry red Stingray at far end of the parking lot. I rode over to park next to it so I could snap a pic while my pillion rolled her eyes at me
Dang it's so hard to capture the curviness of a road from ground level with a mobile phone camera... but I think I managed to capture hints of it with this one
Final pic in my camera roll from our trip up into the mountains last week. Looking at it now there's a lot going on in it, the alt text is gonna take some work
a beautiful day, don't let it get away
A short rest at Woody Gap pass.
And I learned, per the Wikipedia entry:
Woody Gap is a mountain ridge gap in northern Georgia where the Appalachian Trail crosses State Highway 60. Perched at 3,160 ft altitude, the gap affords scenic vistas of Yahoola Valley below. The trailhead is open to the public year-round.
The mountain pass is named in honor of Arthur Woody, an early conservationist.

First stop today was DeSoto Falls along Frogtown Creek.
Stumbling across photogenic spots for my motorcycle has totally become one of my favorite past times.
This one is a little somber tho
My little pony
A nice Sunday morning ride out to the dam at the lake
