I have a pair of those. Brilliant things. 10 quid from a catalogue about 30 years ago, and then a replacement after those got too scratched. No regular glasses for them to go over, but that's a mere detail. (-:

I'm always reminded of the reptilian aliens in the original V series; although that's not quite the same shape.

No sunlight gets in around the sides, which is always annoying with the old-fashioned sunglasses.

I got myself some darkened safety glasses from ToolStation a year or so ago. Those are pretty good, too, although not suitable for the regular glasses wearer unlike the over-the-top Sci-Fi ones from the catalogue.

I have to go and vote today, so I shall be sporting them. (-:

On this gorgeous, sunny day, there are over 20 locks, back-to-back, with no place to stop and tie up along the way.

Yesterday was equally sunny. I wore long sleeves and a hat, but by early afternoon my hands were more red than brown. Today, I'll wear gloves to stop my hands from burning.

As the boat approaches the city, it's goodbye to green pastures—for a while—and hello bustling urbania.
