#PrincessWithACursedSword

I wonder if I could get #TheMagus (The Hex?) to work for it? I've also thought about a re-skin of #PrincessWithACursedSword . Perhaps I'd need something built for multi-session play. Potentially, with some co-op coordination, #TheWizardsGrimoire might be good for stream play. I could also just do something PBTA + Mythic. Got any suggestions for a Space Wizard solo #TTRPG?

Speaking of the #SoloRPGbookclub , we were sitting and thinking about our experiences with Princess with a Cursed Sword and Letters from the Liberty Motel, and wrote about 1.8k words about storytelling prompts in roleplaying games. Free blog post [edit: same on both sites], hope you like them.

Also, just to make it explicit: we, at least, are gonna be watching the hashtag for #PrincessWithACursedSword until at least July, so even if you decide to play the game after the above poll ends, as long as we can see your post (see: moderation, federation), we're prolly gonna reply and talk with you about it!

#SoloRpgBookClub reminder: we're playing Princess with a Cursed Sword this month, and there's already a couple folks (including ourselves!) in that tag and the #PrincessWithACursedSword hashtag talking about their experiences. Feel free to join in - book club is about playing the same game and talking about it!

Played #PrincessWithACursedSword today for #SoloRpgBookClub - wrote up the game as a blog post, viewer discretion advised.

As with the game we played a couple years ago, it went pretty hard. In that game, the story was that the princess gave up the sword to a peasant rebellion and became a village schoolteacher, sharing the knowledge that aristocrats hoard with the people - we tried not to do the exact same thing, but we did once again find ourselves exploring our politics in fiction.

In a mechanical sense, the way that each suit in this Princess Sword game has such a variety of images gave us a lot of room to maintain continuity as we went from card to card. Also, we ended up not doing so many challenges in this one - saved them for when we wanted things to get messy.

Solo RPG Book Club: Every month, we pick a single-player analogue/tabletop roleplaying game, then play it and discuss our experiences. That's the pitch.

For the first month, we're playing Princess with a Cursed Sword by Anna Anthropy, a one-page fairy tale using coin-flipping and Tarot cards. We suggest using hashtags #SoloRpgBookClub, #PrincessWithACursedSword, or both.

If you wanna nominate games for next month, @ us or use the club hashtag. We won't see everything because our instance has moderation, thank you, but we'll gather reccs we do see and start a weeklong poll on the first weekday of June.

I had such a ball playing the #SoloRPG #PrincessWithACursedSword, I finished in a single sitting! It went pretty hard lmao (CW violence, blood and death at link). wiki.writeout.ink/ljwrites/ttr

Impressions: There's some creative heavy lifting involved and I had a hard time coming up with concepts at first, but once I had my "who is the princess?" answers in hand they came together in unexpected ways through the tarot image inspirations and keywords in the rules. I had a lot of fun using the tarot to set the scenes, and it might help to use them as informal inspirations in the initial set-up, too. #SoloRpgBookClub
