I wonder if I could get #TheMagus (The Hex?) to work for it? I've also thought about a re-skin of #PrincessWithACursedSword . Perhaps I'd need something built for multi-session play. Potentially, with some co-op coordination, #TheWizardsGrimoire might be good for stream play. I could also just do something PBTA + Mythic. Got any suggestions for a Space Wizard solo #TTRPG?

@ice yeah, for sure. I started doing solo RPGs (specifically #theMagus. And #ThousandYearOldVampire) as a way to get my fix when I was bedridden for a few weeks, it just so happens that it makes a nice substitute for running "actual" and rpgs!
It's also nice to add flair to my existing "sandbox" settings. My players have met a couple NPCs that were "suspiciously well-formed".
@wholeenchilada @zozo Solo games are great for giving you something to react to narratively and inspiring you to spend outwards from them. There are a ton of journaling games out there which are very specifically about that sort of thing but I admit I'm fond of games like Ironsworn (technically Starforged - https://www.ironswornrpg.com/product-ironsworn-starforged ) which have a little more mechanical underpinning but whose mechanics in turn introduce complications and provide you some sort of inspiration for deciding what those complications are.
That on the table, you can never go wrong with Thousand-year-old Vampire (https://thousandyearoldvampire.com/) or The Magus (https://momatoes.itch.io/the-magus) for that journaling experience.

Starting my first playthrough of #TheMagus. This book is _gorgeous_. I'm so stoked. Might live-toot some of it, but I'm using an actual pencil and notebook to do it, so we'll see.

I finished #TheVampireLestat and moved to #Outline by #RachelCusk . Both books have Greece as a setting. Both depend on characters telling the narrator stories about themselves. Cusk is writing #metafiction though. Both books do however focus on the nature of love and the ways love serve as the centrality of identity. #Rice book reminds me on this second reading of #TheMagus : an elite with its administrative centre in Greece that has located for itself a prehistoric origin tied into old religious forms. #bookstodon
@kapodemico I love this topic! The book I've read the most is #TheMagus by John Fowles --often when I go to Greece...but there are a few others! When I was younger I read and re-read #MaryStewart's 1960s thrillers with women heroines set in locations from Avignon to Lebanon and, of course, #Greece 🥰 #Books #mastodon.ie
