A very good piece of news that came just in time for Christmas:

Andrew Dyer, whom I had the honour of co-supervising at , has defended his PhD! 🎉

If you want to have a first peek at his work on alcohol and , you can have a look at this that was published earlier this year:

Our work on quality of life and as outcomes in substance and behavioural addictions has been published:
onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10

We identified 53 outcome instruments, assessing 41 unique domains (👇 ), 11 of which had their psychometric properties evaluated.

"the paucity of supporting evidence limits confidence in the reliability and validity of QoL measurement in these populations."

Figure 3 of the linked paper:
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/dar.13717

Chart depicting the occurrence of QoL domains across the instruments. Vertical axis labels indicate how many instruments adopt each of the domains. Only domains adopted by >15 instruments are displayed. See Table S3 in the Supporting Information for descriptions of all 41 domains and the specific instruments that adopt them.
