#FOSDEM announced the devrooms for #fosdem2026 and I have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that my submission for a #MusicProduction devroom got accepted, yay! Finally #music will have a well deserved place at FOSDEM! It'll be on Sunday afternoon, expect a CfP soon 🙏

The (super)bad news is that they rejected the #RTC devroom, though... 😢 I can't remember the last time that happened, I think it's always been there? No room for #webrtc #sip and other stuff this time around...

Women in countries like Iran have no choice but to wear it. If they don’t, there is the possibility of 15 years in prison and the possibility of a death sentence.

This is just a handful of problems and injustices that a person may face for leaving Islam. This all especially true if they live in a muslim majority country. However, those that don’t still face the risk of becoming victims of violent crimes, reviving threats, etc. These realities are all painful and heart breaking and no one should have to go through them. Unfortunately, this is the reality for millions of people world wide.

Due to the intense islamophobia that has been happening recently, I would also like to acknowledge that not all ex-muslims have a hard time leaving Islam. This is however, a reality that some do face.

Auf der Messe Transport Logistic in München hat der Zughersteller Siemens Mobility die erste Vectron MS-Lokomotive an die Rail Traction Company (RTC) übergeben.
RTC wird vier Vectron MS erhalten, zwei weitere Loks gehen an das italienische Unternehmen InRail.
Die bestellten Lokomotiven haben eine Leistung von 6,4 Megawatt und erreichen eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 160 km/h. Sie können für den grenzüberschreitenden Güterverkehr sowie schnellen Personenverkehr in diesen Ländern eingesetzt werden: Deutschland, Österreich, Italien, Ungarn, Polen, Tschechien, Slowakei, Rumänien, Bulgarien, Slowenien, Kroatien & Serbien.

First Vectron MS locomotive handed over to RTC / June 2025
At the Transport Logistic trade fair in Munich, train manufacturer Siemens Mobility handed over the first Vectron MS locomotive to the Rail Traction Company (RTC).
RTC will receive four Vectron MS locomotives, and two additional locomotives will go to the Italian company InRail.
The ordered locomotives have an output of 6.4 megawatts and a top speed of 160 km/h. They can be used for cross-border freight transport and high-speed passenger transport in the following countries: Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia.

Je sais pas qui est le gestionnaire au #RTC qui a eu l’idée de faire passer la 801 dans un détour sur la 2e avenue qui n’est pas large, mais visiblement ils n’ont pas à conduire les autobus.

C’est samedi soir, et ça rencontre serré. J’imagine mal quand il y a du traffic.

#inquest concluded today - #collision was caused by grossly excessive speed - 94mph (151 km/h) in a 30mph (48 km/h) zone *and* #DUI

According to the #Police (on their own website) its one of the largest losses of life in a single #RTC in recent times (although I've seen quite a few double #fatals in Essex recently).

Vehicle was #Ford Focus ST, a performance orientated variant (reported on Daily Mail and Sky)

I think every 6th former in #Essex and #Suffolk should be made to learn about this incident and its consequences as part of PHSE ..
