Some #RailroadInk "Futuristic" expansion action on our Sunday afternoon.

Printing tests done for the Railroad Ink print sheets on A4 sized paper.

9x is kind of perfect? It's super small yes - but it fits the little pouch in our meeting notebook, making it easy to bring with to the coffee shop.

4x is good for at home use,

and 2x is large, and would make for a great creative session to decorate the grid during/after play.

Had a nice time last night meeting up with friends for board games/dinner. We played a couple nice rounds of Railroad Ink with the Forests expansion, which was very relaxing.

Spending a ton of time on pretty drawings is apparently no guarantee for a high score in #RailroadInk 😂

Had another great weekly boardgames and dinner meetup tonight. Had some tasty Moussaka, and followed up by playing 2 rounds of Noxford, and one round of Railroad Ink.

We hadn’t tried Noxford yet, since we only picked it up incidentally as a freebie from SHUX last year, but it turned out to be a pretty fun take-that style area control game. Quick to learn, which was nice, and the theme was pretty fun for us.

Wir haben jetzt unsere erst Proberunde "Irregular #RailroadInk" hinter uns :)

Das Spielbrett hat 50 statt der üblichen 49 Felder, und die gleiche Anzahl an Gebäuden. Es gelten also die ganz normalen Regeln.

Nur funktionieren einiger der Challenge-Karten damit nicht, da z.B. ein 3x3 Grid (Aufgabe E) hier kaum sinnvoll definiert ist.

Aufgabe D hingegen funktioniert erstaunlich gut: durch Zufall hat unser sechseckiges Spielbrett vier "echte" Eckfelder, genau wie das Original-Brett (Bild 3).

Idee des Tages: #RailroadInk auf einem irregulären Raster ausprobieren.

Mit @flauschzelle habe ich dazu einen Generator für solche Grids gesucht und quick&dirty angepasst, um möglichst spannende Spielfelder mit der (fast) richtigen Anzahl von Feldern zu finden.

Und dann auf zerschnittene Pappkartons gemalt, weil wir kein Papier hier haben :D

Testspiel gibt's aber erst später, nach dem Stadtrundgang in Wuppertal...

What games does everyone travel with? I usually throw a roll & write like #CartographersGame or #RailroadInk. i also really like Friday as a small solitaire game. And #hive pretty much lives in my bag - great for the kids when waiting for food in restaurants etc

With such a short time window, you'll be limited to those games that set up almost immediately. So a big campaign game isn't an option, I think.

#LegendaryEncounters #Firefly is somewhat at the upper limit of what you can fit in that time. But maybe you'll need to be satisfied with #RailroadInk or doing some Go puzzles!
