Craters in this section of the Moon are casting shadows and there is good terrain definition in the whole area, but Reiner Gamma is a lunar swirl that is in the centre, a long, wiggly line with an oval section in the centre that is bright white and yet does not cast any shadows like all the other brightly illuminated areas.For comparison the same region of the Moon was sketched again but under a full lighting angle so there is little definition and no shadows. The brightest albedo regions stand out, including Reiner Gamma at the centre
